- The growth rate of melanoma cells (but not colon carcinoma) harboring BRAF V600E is inhibited by BRAF V600E siRNA. The growth rate of the BRAF wild type control cell line (MEL 505) was not significantly affected by the expression of BRAF V600E siRNA, indicating that these effects were specific to suppression of mutant BRaf (V600E) expression
