12 CRC cell lines were evaluated. 40% of these were intrinsically resistant to mTOR inhibition with BEZ235, PP242 or WYE354. mTOR independent phosphorylation of EIF4EBP1 (T37/46) was associated with resistance to mTOR inhibitors in one analyzed cell line (SW620).
