- A meta-analysis of 8 metastatic colorectal cancer studies (839 patients) was performed. PIK3CA mutations were significantly associated with shorter PFS and OS following therapy with anti-EGFR monoclonal antibodies (PFS: 8 studies, 839 patients; HR = 1.53; 95 % confidence interval (CI) 1.28-1.84; P < 0.001; OS: 5 studies; 587 patients; HR = 1.28; 95 % CI 1.05-1.56; P = 0.015).
